Jon Birney<\/h2>\n

Director of Dining Services<\/h5>\n

Jon Birney brings extensive Director level leadership experience in campus dining and food service management across a number of colleges. He started his career graduating from\u00a0 Northern VT State University with a degree in Hotel Management. Throughout his career, Jon has focused on making food better through creative ideas and menus designed with his community in mind.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jon is guided by the MG core value \u201cCreate Menus with WOW!\u201d, focusing on dining experiences grounded in quality, safety, and care. He believes that great food served in a clean, welcoming environment naturally fosters strong community connections. At the heart of his leadership style are communication, teamwork, and engagement, using food as a way to bring people together and create a positive, lasting impression.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside of work, Jon enjoys gardening, staying active in the gym, cooking, and entertaining at home. Most of all, he treasures time spent dining with family and friends, where delicious food and meaningful conversation come together.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesse Davis<\/h2>\n
Executive Chef<\/h5>\n

From New York to California, Jesse Davis has built his career in kitchens across the country and now brings that experience to Foxcroft School as Executive Chef. After earning his degree in Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts from Baltimore International Culinary College, he built his career in restaurants and hotels across New York, Miami, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C..<\/span><\/p>\n

Jesse\u2019s favorite MG core value is \u201cEmbrace Fresh, Local, Scratch.\u201d He enjoys working with local ingredients, drawing inspiration from regional and cultural recipes to create dishes both familiar and new. His appreciation for fresh ingredients also carries into his life outside the kitchen, where he and his family enjoy gardening on their two-acre property.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Foxcroft, Jesse hopes to create meals that make the community feel at home while encouraging students to try something they may not have experienced before.<\/span><\/p>\n

Richard Hetzler<\/strong><\/h2>\n
District Manager<\/h5>\n

Rich is a talented leader and culinarian who spent his early days working in various fine dining restaurants in the DC market, ultimately prompting him to launch his own restaurant Ovvia Osteria in Fairfax, Virginia. After that, he served in culinary leadership roles in education and cultural arts venues, including George Washington University, Georgetown University, National Museum of the American Indian, and Smithsonian Institute. In those roles, he had the opportunity to lead teams of 250-plus across multiple locations. Rich has a genuine passion for food, developing others, and delivering remarkable hospitality to clients. <\/span><\/p>\n

We take a holistic approach to being good stewards of our natural resources. Given that food services as an industry are notorious for waste, we start with a focus on not letting good food end up in the trash.\u00a0 From there, we incorporate other important strategies: buying local foods, composting, recycling, etc. Doing what we can to take better care of our planet is the right thing to do. We also provide programs and information in these areas as well as nutrition awareness. <\/span><\/p>\n
